Overview
Doodlenest collects no data. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no sign-up and no Doodlenest server.
Where your nest lives
A nest is stored in the iCloud account of the person who started it, using Apple CloudKit sharing. Your display name and the strokes you draw (shape, colour, time) are saved there and shared only with the people who joined that nest with its invite link. We (the developer) cannot see or read your nests.
On your device
Your name, the people you block and a copy of your nests are kept on your iPhone or iPad so the app and the widget work offline. Blocking only hides that person on your device.
Notifications
iCloud wakes the app silently when a nest changes so the widget can refresh. If you turn on alerts, your device shows a local notification; nothing is sent to us.
Reports
A report opens an email to our support address with the nest and member names you choose to send. We read every report within 24 hours and help the nest owner remove people who break the community rules.
Purchases
Plus purchases are handled by Apple. The app checks them on your device; we receive nothing.
Deleting
Delete my data in Settings deletes the nests you started with their books, leaves the nests you joined and clears your device. The owner of a nest can remove any member. Deleting the app removes the copy on your device; nests you started stay in your iCloud until you delete them.
Children
Doodlenest is made for families; a child under 13 should use it with a parent's help.
